Looking up from the beach

Looking down on a small beach. The ocean is to the right. In the distance is a hill covered with green vegetation. The house and deck at Fonteintjies are visible on the horizon. A neighbouring house is in the distance to the right.

A different view of Fonteintjies, taken from our little secluded beach. We’ve been experiencing a lot of rain and we are not complaining one bit. Wish you were here.

Captain’s Corner

Bedroom 1 at Fonteintjies, seen from near the door. There is a double bed in the foreground. The walls to the far left and centre both have large windows. Below the centre window is a large bedroom seat. In the far corner of the room near the centre of the picture, is a small table. The ocean is visible through the window to the centre right, and the braai and patio are visible through the other window to the left.

Our master bedroom, the Captain’s Corner, offers beautiful views over the ocean. Perfect to lie in a little and read a book.

Happy December!

A view of the sea, seen from the deck at Fonteintjies.

This year has flown by, and we’re ready for the festive season. The ocean is looking beautiful this morning. Have a wonderful day.

Vleesbaai 4×4 Dune Route

Did you know that the Vleesbaai 4×4 dune route is very close to Fonteintjies? It’s a perfect excursion while staying with us! Here’s an article from SA 4×4: “Vleesbaai 4×4 – a great sandy escape!“ You can also check out the Vleesbaai 4×4 Facebook page.

Dune sage

We love putting fresh Dune Sage in the house. In English, it is known as Wild Sage, Beach Sage, Golden Sage, Dune Sage, or Sand Sage. In Afrikaans, it is known as Sandsalie, Geelblomsalie, Strandsalie, or Bruinsalie. The tubular flowers hold copious amounts of nectar which attracts Sundbirds and pollinating insects to the garden.
